A short trip out to Phoenix Park at Thurnscoe, the village seven miles away where my brother and dad live. I went in the car with my support worker and we met up with my brother, the first time I've seen him since the start of lockdown...we do chat daily online though.
Phoenix Park is the landscaped spoilheap of the former colliery in the village; there are several in the area but this is my favourite - it was one of the first to be established and I think the planting is far more naturalistic...it's also the highest with the climb up to the summit being nearly two hundred feet. At the bottom of the hill there's a sculpture trail.
