Marr, Sprotbrough, and Warmsworth

I caught the Barnsley bus and travelled for five miles to Marr where I immediately located the footpath and walked across the fields to Sprotbrough.

At Sprotbrough I went down into the Don Gorge and spent a bit of time there, even having an icecream. I finished the walk by going up through the woods and then along the path to the housing estate at Warmsworth and caught the bus back to town on the main road.

The weather was a bit disappointing today, rather cool and cloudy, and also muggy. I did get out of the house for a few hours though and stretched my legs.

Tickhill, Stainton, and Wadworth

I caught the Worksop bus to Tickhill again and walked over to Stainton this time; it's a lovely walk and Stainton is a pretty village. On the return loop back to Wadworth I had walk along a couple of stretches of road though.

It looks there's just been, or is soon going to be, a scarecrow festival at Tickhill...these were the only ones I saw .

Tickhill is a lovely small market town but I didn't go exploring, I did that a few weeks ago. I went straighht to the church and out to the west, over the fields to Stainton.

I just missed the 12:10 bus from Wadworth going to Doncaster and so had to catch the 12:40, it gave me time to pop in the shop and get a chilled drink and then go up to the church to take some photos.

My legs were fine today but my hip was quite painful at times.

Buxton and Chatsworth Farm Shop

A lovely summer-like today for a trip out to Buxton with my support worker.

The first two photographs feature the roof of the Cavensdish Arcade, where many quirky independent shops are located.

Now, some more traditional shots of The Crescent and the adjacent area.

Not too far away are the Pavlion Gardens and the Opera House.

On the way back home we stopped at the Chatsworth Farm Shop at Pilsley where I bought a game pie.
