A Strange Day in Beverley

Basically my annual trip out to Beverley with Siobhan, my support worker...it's one of our favourite towns to visit. It was a bit of a strange day for us today though because we saw at least half a dozen people carrying their dogs as they were looking round the shops and when we were chatting to a young woman who was working in one of the charity shops she mentioned that she'd been to Doncaster once, but kept calling it Vancouver by mistake...very strange. Beverley is very good for buying clothes at charity shops though - I got some very good shirts for only £1 each, far better than anything I could get in Doncaster...or Vancouver even I should think.

Of course I took plenty of photographs...

We went inside St Mary's Church which we much prefer to the minster, which is quite shabby and dilapidated in places.

The phoneboxes in Beverley, like Hull, have always been painted a cream colour because they've always had their own independent telecoms company, Kingston Commications.

There are two market places in Beverley, called Saturday Market and Wednesday Market; this is Wednesday Market, taken on a Wednesday of course.
