Bedale, Snape, Masham, and West Tanfield

I don't usually have a day out with my support worker on a Tuesday, so I've taken advantage of the situation by visiting a different town when it's market day today. That town is Bedale, a small but pleasant town. We had ninety minutes to explore before we popped in to a pub for lunch.

After lunch we drove about three miles south to Snape to see the fortified manor house and the private chapel of Katherine Parr, one of the wives of Henry VIII.

We continued on to Masham it's either the smallest town in Yorkshire, or maybe even the whole of England.

We completed our day at West Tanfield, a very pretty village. We had drinks in the pub garden at The Bull Inn, awarded the distinction of having the best riverside beer garden in Yorkshire.

I then went to take some photographs of the church and the Marmion Tower; I was able to climb up to the first floor of the tower, the second floor was blocked off though.
