I didn't fancy doing a lot of walking today in the hot sunshine, especially across open moorland and so I travelled to the Longshaw Estate, just over the boundary in Derbyshire. It's high up on the moors but there's plenty of woodland to provide some shade. I didn't have a planned route, I didn't even look at my map; I know the area well but was still hoping to find some places new to me...and I was successful.
I was able to treat myself to a small tub of Sicilian lemon ice cream from the cafe at the Information Centre on my way back to the bus-stop at Fox House.
