Newark-on-Trent and Southwell

A day out today to Newark and Southwell with Siobhan, my support worker. We usually visit annually, but I think this might have been our first visit for two years.

The weather was lovely when we first arrived and since we needed to use the public toilets at the castle, and we were parked in that part of town, my first photographs feature the castle looking glorious in the sunshine.

We walked the short distance down to the market place, stopping to look in several shops.

We found some quaint tearooms down an alleyway and would have gone in later if I'd paid for more than four hours parking. We had to stick to our plan and drive the seven miles to Southwell.

When we got there it was quite cloudy and so I didn't take very many photographs.

On our way back to Newark to join the A1 to travel back north we called in at The Clockhouse Tearooms at the National Horological Society at Upton...we've never actually been visited the museum, most of the time it's only open for private tours booked in advance.
