I travelled to the Ladybower Inn and walked down the road, crossed over Ashopton Viaduct and walked up the steep footpath to Crookhill Farm and beyond. Just beyond Crook Hill I spotted my first snow of the winter in a sheltered hollow.
There were lovely views looking up the valley to the west.
At a junction of footpaths I selected the one that went down through the woods to the Fairholmes Visitor Centre, a route I'd not used before.
I walked along the eastern shore of the reservoir to return to the Ladybower Inn. I got back there just after midday; I'd had enough though, the weather was deteriorating and my foot hurt.
